THE IMPORTANCE OF TEACHER-STUDENT RELATIONSHIP.
The teacher-student relationship is the same as that of naturalism. The teacher must provide opportunities for the natural development of the innate qualities of the children.
According to Dewey, discipline is the proper use of one's energy and power. A teacher should be neither the autocrat nor the authoritarian of the traditional methods. He has to know the subject and his students. He observes his students and guides them to carry on the activities successfully. A teacher must be a guide, friend and philosopher.
